Nutrition and Hydration

If your organisation prepares food for potentially vulnerable people it is essential to be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of dehydration and malnutrition.  In addition, it is necessary to be proactive in providing adequate nutrition and hydration.

A diet deficient in certain nutrients can lead to ill-health and disease. Under the Health and Social Care Act 2008, Regulation 14,

…. Providers must make sure that people have enough to eat to meet their nutrition and hydration needs and received the support they need to do so.
